…t tolerance fix rgpot 3.0.0's Morse cutoff-shift test pins a cancelled difference to 1e-14 relative and fails on aarch64/generic by an ulp of exp, which is what left every aarch64 build of this PR with an empty tarball. The upstream fix (rgpot d3a4d1d) rides as a patch on the easyconfig.

@trz42 could you paste the tail of The aarch64/generic builds here have now ended with an empty tarball three times (Sep 25, Sep 29 and Oct 3), each after about 20 minutes, while zen4 goes through. On zen4 the first thing that gets built is Highway 1.4.0 with GCCcore 15.2.0, and #1752 and #1765 built on aarch64/generic fine, so I think the base stack is okay and Highway's test suite is the likely culprit. The hook already turns those tests off for Highway 1.0.4 on neoverse_v1, a64fx and grace (#469). I have the same change ready for 1.4.0 on aarch64/generic and would open it on software-layer-scripts as soon as the log confirms it's the tests and not the library itself. I'll also fix the title, this is eOn 2.17.10 and not 3.3.0. |

…ICE patch The aarch64/generic build stopped on a GCC 15.2.0 internal compiler error in Highway's random_test for the scalable SVE targets. The pinned commit adds the patch that keeps the lane count out of the folded shape initializer; the full chain then builds on an Arm runner with --optarch=GENERIC (run 38085947726).

@HaoZeke Highway fails during the build, the EB log shows: So probably this can be solved by building with fewer cores, i.e. by adding Highway to the |

Root cause of the aarch64/generic failure: Highway 1.4.0 does not compile with GCC 15.2.0 under the generic flags ( Fix: easybuilders/easybuild-easyconfigs#27107 adds a patch that keeps the lane count out of the folded shape initializer. This PR now pins Highway Reported upstream to Highway and GCC as well; the preprocessed source is attached there. |

Replace eOn 2.17.10 with eOn 3.6.0. rgpot moves to 3.5.0 and readcon-core to 0.16.2, and eOn 3.6.0 brings python-xxhash, vesin, readcon and readcon-db. xxHash comes from the EasyBuild 5.4.0 release. cargo-c drops out, since readcon-core 0.16.2 does not need it. The easyconfigs pins move to easybuild-easyconfigs#26480 at 7f00922f19, and the easyblock pin to easybuild-easyblocks#4240 at 000538462c. Highway keeps the #27107 pin with the GCC 15.2 ICE patch.

Thanks @bedroge, that was the real failure. |

Pin software-layer-scripts to the highway-parallelism branch merged with main (EESSI/software-layer-scripts#317), to test it on aarch64/generic.

Not sure if the checksum in the eaysconfig is wrong, or whether the local tarball is problematic. I'll delete it and try again. bot: build repo:eessi.io-2026.06-software instance:eessi-bot-mc-aws for:arch=aarch64/generic |

bot/software_layer_scripts_commit moves to 8d912a7f, the head of software-layer-scripts#317, which merges main's 66e4377c.
The head fixes the readcon-core 0.16.2 source checksum that stopped the aarch64/generic build, and moves eOn 3.6.0 to rgpot 3.5.1 with the PairListTest FMA contraction fix.
The checksum did not match the v0.16.2 tarball GitHub serves, and EESSI's bot stopped on it (EESSI/software-layer#1692). The served tarball is git archive of tag v0.16.2 (9e12ea9727d5f3c85d8eeb4d927beb634e1bdb59) compressed with gzip -n6, which gives a6bd0f92b200d3f84c11ac99c99015dc3457b15f0ed874b326add00382f437aa.
software-layer-scripts#317 is merged, so take main's scripts commit 954fad3a.
The head of easybuild-easyconfigs#26480 now moves Eigen to build dependencies in rgpot and eOn and uses python -s in their sanity checks.
Adds eOn 3.6.0 on foss/2026.1 to 2026.06, with rgpot 3.5.0 and the rest of its new dependencies.
The recipes are not on develop yet, so the easystack pins them with from-commit:
xxHash 0.8.3 is in the EasyBuild 5.4.0 release.
The pins move to merge commits as those PRs land.
This PR started as eOn 2.17.10, and 3.6.0 replaces it.
On aarch64/generic the ICE patch gets past the compiler error, but the Highway test build then ran out of memory.
EESSI/software-layer-scripts#317 limits the Highway build parallelism, and this PR needs a rebuild on that target after it merges.
The eOn easyblock configures eOn itself without Highway on aarch64.
