Summary

With Cache:CacheType set to Redis, the API always connected to localhost:6379. It read and validated Cache:Redis:ConnectionString but never used it, so deployed instances couldn't reach their Redis. Both the distributed cache and the backplane now connect with the configured connection string.

Config

Cache:Redis:ConnectionString takes a StackExchange.Redis connection string, for example my-redis:6379,password=…,ssl=true,abortConnect=false.

The Redis cache connected to localhost:6379 whatever Cache:Redis:ConnectionString
said, so deployed instances never reached their Redis.
