This adds a 3rd-party plugin with rule exclusions for the Joomla administrator
back end:

  • Repository: https://github.com/futsure0/joomla-rule-exclusions-plugin
  • Rule ID range: 9,532,000 - 9,532,999 (the next free block after 9,531,xxx)
  • License: Apache-2.0
  • README table and registry.json regenerated with scripts/generate_registry.py; tests/registry/test_validate.py passes
  • CI: integration tests with crs-plugin-test-action (Apache / ModSecurity v2
and nginx / libmodsecurity v3, CRS main and the latest LTS) and plugin lint

The plugin only excludes the content field of the article, custom HTML module,
category and offline message screens from the XSS rules and rule 932130, and
only for POST requests to the administrator entry point that carry a Joomla
session cookie.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

No eligible functions found in the changed files. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 0 functions across 0 files. (3 skipped: 3 unsupported.)

Full details: Rule Change Requires Go-Ftw Test Coverage

Explanation

not applicable: the pull request changes only README.md, registry.json, and registry.yaml. It does not add or modify a SecRule in rules/.conf or plugins/.conf, and it does not change regex-assembly patterns.

Full details: Redos Risk & Re2 Compatibility

Explanation

Not applicable. The pull request changes only README.md, registry.json, and registry.yaml. It adds or modifies no @rx pattern, regex-assembly/*.ra file, regexp.MustCompile, or Python re.compile expression.

Full details: False Positive Risk & Existing Coverage

Explanation

Not applicable. The reviewed diff changes only README.md, registry.json, and registry.yaml. It does not add or widen a detection pattern and does not add a rule under rules/*.conf, plugins/*.conf, or regex-assembly/.

Full details: Rule & Config Breaking Changes

Explanation

The pull request only adds a new Joomla plugin entry to registry.yaml, regenerated registry.json, and the README registry table. It does not remove or renumber a rule ID, change CRS defaults, tags, messages, paranoia levels, data files, or Go/Python tooling APIs. Therefore, none of the stated breaking-change conditions apply.

Full details: Unpinned Dependencies & Actions

Explanation

Passed — not applicable. The pull request changes only README.md, registry.json, and registry.yaml. It does not change a dependency manifest, lockfile, Dockerfile, workflow, or pipeline file covered by this check.

Full details: Secrets, Payloads & Pii In Logs

Explanation

PASS — The pull request changes only README.md, registry.json, and registry.yaml. The added lines contain plugin registry metadata and a repository URL. They add no logging, error handling, telemetry, request or response data, credentials, tokens, payloads, or test artifacts.

Full details: New Dependency Scrutiny

Explanation

PASS: The PR changes only README.md, registry.json, and registry.yaml. It does not add an entry to a listed package/dependency manifest, a new GitHub Actions uses: step, or a Buildkite pipeline plugin reference. The Joomla plugin is registry metadata, so this dependency-scrutiny check is not triggered.

Full details: Install & Build-Time Code Execution

Explanation

The pull request changes only README.md, registry.json, and registry.yaml. The diff adds registry metadata for the Joomla plugin. It adds no Dockerfile, CI workflow, shell installer, Python packaging hook, npm lifecycle script, Go environment setting, or Terraform provisioner. No stated install or build-time code execution risk is introduced.

Full details: Ai Use Without Disclosure

Explanation

❌ Blocker: AI assistance detected without a disclosure. The PR body ends with “🤖 Generated with Claude Code” but contains no ## AI Disclosure section or valid tool-use disclosure. This is a non-trivial registry addition that changes README.md, registry.json, and registry.yaml.

Resolution

Add the ## AI Disclosure section to the PR body. State that AI was used, name Claude Code, and describe the AI-assisted work and the review performed.

Full details: Ai Contribution Disclosure

Explanation

The PR fails the disclosure-format check. The commit message contains the prohibited attribution trailer Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>. The PR body ends with the AI-tool signature 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code]. The body also lacks the required lowercase ## what, ## why, and ## refs sections. The registration is not a trivial typo, version bump, or automated dependency update.

Resolution

Remove the Co-Authored-By trailer and the Generated with signature from the commit message and PR body. Add lowercase ## what, ## why, and ## refs sections. If AI was materially used, disclose one concrete tool and version, the specific generated work, and the concrete verification performed in the accepted table or bullet format.

Full details: Owasp Security (Web, Api & Llm)

Explanation

⚠️ Supply chain integrity failure: registry.yaml:254-260 registers a third-party Joomla plugin by a mutable GitHub repository URL and marks it tested, but the registry entry has no immutable release, commit pin, checksum, or signature. The generated entries at registry.json:372-382 and README.md:46 expose the same unverified plugin. The repository documentation confirms that registration does not verify releases and that signing/checksums are out of scope (docs/registry-schema.md:31-36); tooling derives versions from the latest GitHub release tag (docs/plugin-descriptor-schema.md:144-146).

Resolution

Do not register the plugin until its supply-chain integrity is verifiable. Add a required immutable release or commit reference plus a cryptographic checksum or verified signature to the registry schema, validation, generated metadata, and installer/configurator flow. Ensure CI verifies that reference before marking the plugin tested, then regenerate registry.json and README.md.

Full details: Renovate: Config Present And Valid

Explanation

No Renovate configuration exists at the PR head. The PR changes root files (README.md, registry.json, and registry.yaml), so the check triggers. Checks 1–3 cannot pass without a configuration file.

Resolution

Add renovate.json at the repository root with $schema set to https://docs.renovatebot.com/renovate-schema.json and an extends array that includes github>coreruleset/renovate-config.

Synchronize the plugin descriptor with the reserved range.

The registry now reserves 9532000–9532999, but futsure0/joomla-rule-exclusions-plugin/plugin.yaml still says Not yet reserved. Update or remove that text so the registry and plugin metadata report the same allocation.

The linked-repository finding reports the stale text at plugin.yaml:28-31.

Add Joomla to the rule-exclusion documentation list.

The registry now advertises this plugin, but the CRS documentation does not list Joomla in its documented rule-exclusion package list. Add the package or link the follow-up documentation PR so users can discover the registered plugin.

The linked-repository finding identifies content/2-how-crs-works/2-3-false-positives-and-tuning.md:397-408 as the missing list.
