Summary

Addresses part of #17 (Download of Account).

Enables downloading all datasets belonging to an account/organization namespace on DBpedia Databus (e.g. \databusclient download https://databus.dbpedia.org/dbpedia\).

Motivation

Previously, attempting to download an account URI printed a stub message (\ccountId not supported yet # TODO) and aborted. As proposed in #17, users should be able to download an account's namespace, which should resolve all groups owned by that account and download them (respecting flags like --all-versions, --localdir, format/compression conversion, checksum verification, etc.).

Changes Included

  1. Account Group Discovery (\databusclient/api/download.py):

    • Added _get_groups_of_account(account_uri, endpoint_url, databus_key):
      • Queries the Databus SPARQL endpoint using the Databus v2 ontology (\databus:account\ / \databus:group).
      • Falls back to the legacy DataID ontology (\dataid:account\ / \dataid:group) if needed.
      • Filters and verifies group URIs belong to the specified account namespace.
  2. Recursive Account Download Pipeline:

    • Added _download_account(...):
      • Discovers all groups under the account and downloads each group via _download_group().
      • Supports \ll_versions\ (defaults to latest version of artifacts, or all versions when --all-versions\ is specified).
      • Replaced the # TODO accountId not supported yet\ placeholder in \download().
  3. Documentation:

    • Updated \README.md\ and \doc/cli-usage.md\ to document account downloads with examples.
  4. Testing:

    • Added \ ests/test_download_account.py\ with 7 comprehensive unit and CLI dispatch tests covering v2 SPARQL querying, legacy fallback, error handling, dispatch logic, and CLI integration.

Verification

  • Tested locally with \poetry run pytest: \190 passed, 3 skipped\ (100% pass rate).
  • Tested code styling with \poetry run ruff check .: clean with zero errors.
  • Verified against live Databus SPARQL endpoint: successfully resolves account groups.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Download content associated with an account, including artifacts from its groups. Account downloads support the same options as group downloads.
    • If an account has no groups, no downloads are started.
  • Documentation
    • Updated CLI guidance and examples to include account URIs as download targets.

- Implement _get_groups_of_account to query SPARQL endpoint for an account's groups
- Implement _download_account to recursively download all groups under an account namespace
- Replace TODO placeholder in download() with _download_account invocation
- Support all existing options including --all-versions, --compression, --format, --validate-checksum, and --localdir
- Add unit tests in tests/test_download_account.py
- Update CLI and README documentation

Walkthrough

Account URIs now trigger group discovery and downloads through the download API. The lookup uses the v2 vocabulary and falls back to the legacy vocabulary. Tests and CLI documentation cover account downloads.

Changes: Account downloads

Layer / File(s) Summary
Discover account groups
databusclient/api/download.py, tests/test_download_account.py
The account group lookup queries the v2 vocabulary and falls back to the legacy vocabulary when the first query returns no bindings or fails. It returns unique group URIs under the account. Tests cover filtering, fallback, and query errors.
Download account groups
databusclient/api/download.py, tests/test_download_account.py, README.md, doc/cli-usage.md
Account URIs are dispatched to account download. The API downloads each discovered group and forwards the download options. Tests cover group downloads, API dispatch, and CLI handling. The documentation adds account URIs and an account-download example.

Account downloads can report that no groups exist, and exit successfully, when the underlying discovery queries actually failed. Passing an http:// account URI can also yield no groups. Fix the error propagation before merging; the URI normalization is a smaller follow-up.

Normalize account URIs to HTTPS before querying.

download() routes http:// account URIs to _download_account without changing them. _download_account passes the URI to _get_groups_of_account, which uses it in exact-IRI SPARQL matches and in a startswith group filter. Databus account identifiers use the https:// scheme, so an http:// input matches no stored account. Discovery then returns no groups, and the command prints No groups found without downloading anything.

Propagate the legacy-query error when account discovery fails.

If the v2 query fails, _get_groups_of_account tries the legacy query. If that query also fails, the helper returns an empty list. _download_account then reports “No groups found” and returns normally, so the CLI can report success without downloading anything. The new test asserts this empty result; change it to distinguish a failed query from a successful query with no groups. Keep the v2-to-legacy fallback.
