Description

Downloads fail with MissingSchema or InvalidSchema when the initial HEAD response contains a relative Location, such as /data.ttl, ../data.ttl, or //host/data.ttl. The redirect value is currently passed directly to the next request.

Resolve Location against the original request URL before following it. Absolute redirect URLs keep their existing behavior.

The regression test serves redirects and file content from a local HTTP server. Four relative cases fail before the fix; all five cases, including an absolute URL, pass afterward. Each redirect form now asserts its exact requested path. A negative control that incorrectly resolves data.ttl at the root fails as expected. No public server or credentials are needed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Downloads now correctly follow redirects that use relative URLs, including paths relative to the original request, so the expected file can be retrieved. This improves download handling for servers that provide redirects in relative form, helping ensure the requested file is saved successfully instead of failing to follow the redirect.
