Summary

  • Update the package version from 5.0.4 to 5.0.5rc1.
  • Remove the publishing workflow environment requirement to match the PyPI Trusted Publisher environment setting of Any.
  • Add minimal README bullets for Trusted Publisher configuration and manual publishing from the selected branch.
  • Publishing builds, checks distributions, and uploads without running tests; the separate test workflow is unchanged.

Related to #84. This PR does not change repository settings or publish a release.

Validation

  • git diff --check: passes.
  • No publishing workflow was run.
